These are 16" square accent cushion covers. They have been made with this very stylish 'Gilpins Horses in the 'Black colourway fabric. They are professionally made with removable zippered covers and are piped and backed in a contrasting linen union fabric. This design has been created by using a set of six etchings of the working horse drawn by Sawrey Gilpin in 1760. He trained under Samuel Scott, the marine artist, but turned early in his career to painting horses, working exclusively around Newmarket and in particular for Duke of Cumberland, who employed him, to make 'portraits of his celebrated racers. |
